Why one session will not fix your back.
Back pain is rarely one muscle. Stiff segments, muscles guarding to protect them, and a core and glutes that have switched off feed each other, and they built up over months of sitting and load. One massage can ease it for a day. Getting on top of it means working the cause, in order, over a course.
If you want a single rub, we are not your clinic. If you want it dealt with properly, read on.
THE PROGRAMME
The Low Back Programme.
Your assessment, your plan, and a course of hands-on soft tissue treatment over six to eight weeks with the same practitioner. We assess what is driving your back pain, release the guarding and stiffness, and rebuild the load through the core and hips so it holds. The hands-on treatment is what shifts the problem; your home exercises hold the gains between visits.
Assessment.
We find what is driving the problem: which structures are restricted, which are overworking, and how the pattern built up.
Tension Release.
Hands-on soft tissue work on the tissue holding the pattern in place.
Strength Rebuild.
A loading plan that retrains the tissue so the pattern does not return, with exercises you do between visits.

Reviews
What our clients say.
Verified reviews from Google, Fresha and Treatwell.
"I've had sports massage from probably eight different therapists over ten years of running. Alexander is in a different category. He explained what was actually happening in my IT band before touching it, which no one has ever done. Three sessions and the knee issue I'd had for two years is gone. I don't say that lightly."
Sarah M.
"Chronic upper back tension from desk work. I'd tried everything, osteopathy, physio, regular massage. Nothing stuck for more than a week. Alexander found a restriction in my thoracic spine that nobody had identified before and worked on it systematically across four sessions. Six months later and it hasn't come back."
James T.
"Booked the clinical assessment because I'd been told different things by three different physios and had no idea who was right. Alexander's assessment was the most thorough I've had. The written report explained my shoulder issue in a way I actually understood. The treatment plan was logical, not generic. Worth every penny just for the clarity."

A CASE FROM THE CLINIC
Simon is a strong lifter with yearly back spasms, lower back pain under the bar, and sharp pain down the leg. He had been treating it as tight muscles and stretching the hamstring, with no lasting change. The assessment found two things: the sharp leg pain was nerve pain, not a tight muscle, so stretching the hamstring was the wrong move; and the root cause was quiet glutes and weak hip flexors, leaving the quads and lower back to take the strain on every heavy lift. We stopped the hamstring stretching, calmed the nerve, and switched the engine back over with glute and hip flexor work. Three sessions in, the root cause behind the recurring spasms is named and confirmed, and Simon is on a tracked, progressive plan that is reassessed every session.

When back pain needs a doctor.
Some back pain has red flags: numbness in the saddle area, loss of bladder or bowel control, leg weakness, or unexplained weight loss. We screen for these at your assessment and refer you on if needed. We work alongside medical care, we do not replace it.
